Part of MBUG's charter is to support cyclists in the Mitchell Shire by representing them at the local government level and ensuring that the Mitchell Shire Council is aware of their needs.

We are fulfilling this role by being vocal and ensuring we are seen to be doing things for cyclists.

The following are some of the advocacy activities currently being engaged in by MBUG:

  • Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail

    Despite their agreement with the Murrindindi and Mansfield Shires, Mitchell Shire Council is wavering in their support of the proposed Rail Trail. MBUG has presented to the council at a number of meetings, but it is vital that our members also have their say about the Rail Trail. Everyone is invited to send a letter to their local councillors expressing their support for the Trail. For information on your local councillors, please refer to the Mitchell Shire website
